TROY, Ala. | TROY SOCCER COMPLEX GAME NOTES | LIVE STATS | LIVE VIDEO (FRIDAY ONLY) | TWITTER THE MATCH:The Kennesaw State soccer team will next head to its first of two consecutive tournaments this weekend, traveling to Troy, Ala., for the 2014 Troy Trojan Classic in the Troy Soccer Complex on Aug. 29-31. The Owls will face off against the host Trojans on Friday at 5 p.m. ET, before taking on South Alabama on Sunday at 1 p.m.
It will be the second time this season that the Owls have traveled to the state of Alabama following their season-opening trip to Tuscaloosa to face SEC foe Alabama.

THE OPPONENTS:Troy/South AlabamaThe Trojans are coming off of a 6-0 win over Alabama State on Tuesday after starting the season with back-to-back losses. Troy is led by Alissa Jones with six points on two goals and two assists. The Jaguars come into the weekend with a 1-1 record after opening the season with a 2-1 double overtime tie with UAB, before rebounding with a 3-0 win against Nicholls State. Danielle Henley leads USA with a pair of goals, while Courtney Baum and Sarah Hay have split time in goal.
THE SERIES:Kennesaw State owns a 1-0-0 mark against the Trojans after taking a 2-0 win over Troy last season in the teams' only meeting in program history. Sophomore
Maggie Gaughan had a career day as she scored her first two goals in the Black and Gold to lead the team to victory. It will be the first-ever match between the Owls and the Jaguars on Sunday.

Iyani Hughes scored in the 71st minute to lift the Owls to a 1-1 double overtime tie on Monday night (Aug. 25) at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Hughes evened up the intense match with less than 20 minutes remaining in regulation as sophomore
Shannon Driscoll fired a shot from outside the 18-yard box that was deflected by GSU goalkeeper Christa Fox straight to the senior, who finished with authority into the back of the net.
NEXT UP:KSU continues tournament play with a trip to Murfreesboro, Tenn., for the Blue Raider Classic, hosted by Middle Tennessee on Sept. 5-7. The Owls will battle Austin Peay on Friday (Sept. 5) at 5 p.m. and South Florida on Sunday (Sept. 7) at 2 p.m.
NEWS AND NOTES:KSU OffensivelyThe Owls are averaging four corners and 12 shots per contest after earning eight corners and firing off 24 shots in its first two contests.

Rob King is just three wins away from his 200th head coaching win as the veteran coach owns a 197-112-22 record in 19 seasons of coaching. At Kennesaw State, King owns a 154-60-18 record after earning the program's 150th win against Northern Kentucky on Sept. 29, 2012.
NewcomersAlong with its 12 returners, the Owls welcome in nine newcomers for the 2014 season, including six international student-athletes, three from Canada and three from Norway, along with three local players.

Iyani Hughes' match-tying score. It was Driscoll's seventh career point after posted three goals in her freshman campaign last season.
Hughes in the ClutchIyani Hughes knows how to come through in the clutch as the senior scored the game-tying goal in Monday's tie with Georgia State. It was her first goal since the 2012 season, when she scored the game-winning goal against SEC foe Arkansas on Sept. 2. The Chelsea, Ala., native now has eight career points on three goals and two assists.
Carter in GoalFreshman
Mady Carter has started both matches for the Owls in 2014. Carter owns 2.70 goals-against average in 200 minutes, while collecting 10 saves, including a season-high seven against Alabama in her first-career start in the season opener on Aug. 22.
