Brian Bohannon and Director of Athletics
Vaughn Williams traveled to Charlotte, N.C. to take part in 2014 Big South Conference Media at the Charlotte Marriott City Center.
Â
The two-day event began with a golf outing at the Ballantyne Resort Golf Club that included head coaches, athletic directors, team support staff and media on Wednesday (July 23). Thursday's agenda began with local live radio interviews with current student-athletes and meetings of head coaches and athletic directors.
Â
The afternoon began with a noon luncheon where each head coach provided a brief capsule his team's outlook for the 2014 season and Big South's preseason all-conference team and Players of the Year were announced. Media roundtable question and answer sessions followed along live interviews on the Big South Network and segments with ESPN3.
Â
Bohannon and his staff are preparing to welcome Kennesaw State's first recruiting class, which will report to campus on Aug. 15 and hold its first workout on Aug. 18 in preparation for playing its inaugural game against East Tennessee on Sept. 3, 2015 in Johnson City, Tenn. The Owls will play their first home game on Sept. 12 when they welcome Edward Waters to Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Â
Season tickets are continuing to be sold at a rapid pace as the KSU Department of Athletics recently announced that it has surpassed 3,000 season ticket deposits, representing 83 percent of available tickets at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Â
Less than 600 tickets remain available for purchase through the Letter of Intent (LOI) program before a potential wait list scenario is instituted.
Â
With a projected 3,600 seats available for purchase, the only way to guarantee seats is to submit an LOI along with a refundable $20 deposit as tickets will only be available through season ticket purchases.
Â
The LOI Program is a formal request that requires a deposit to enter into the Priority Seating Program which uses points to fairly distribute priority when selecting seat locations among donors. All seats will be $99 for the season plus a donation to The Owls Fund.
Â
The seat location process is scheduled to begin on Feb. 1, 2015 and will include fans visiting Fifth Third Bank Stadium to select their seats based on their priority points standing.
Â
Kennesaw State, which will be an associate member of the Big South Conference, announced on Nov. 14 that its inaugural game will be at East Tennessee State on Sept. 3, 2015. The Owls signed 29 players to its inaugural recruiting class on Feb. 5, 2014.
Â
Kennesaw State will play six home games during its inaugural season that includes non-conference contests against Edward Waters (Sept. 12), Paine College (Sept. 19) and Point University (Oct. 10). The Owls also will host Big South Conference opponents Gardner-Webb (Oct. 17), Monmouth (Oct. 31) and Charleston Southern (Nov. 7).
Â
More information on the Priority Points Program is available atÂ
www.KennesawStateFootball.com. Fans can talk to a ticket representative and submit their LOI by calling the KSU Athletics Ticket Office at 770-423-OWLS (6957).
