BOX SCORE (XML) | BOX SCORE (PDF) | PHOTO GALLERYKENNESAW, Ga. – The Owls made it two-in-a-row on Wednesday night as the Kennesaw State baseball team got the best of Jacksonville State, 11-4, with an 11-hit performance at Stillwell Stadium.
Alex Liquori put together a 3-for-4 night at the plate with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored as the Owls move to 16-20 on the year while dropping the Gamecocks to 19-13.
The Owls sent all nine players in the lineup up to bat in the bottom of the first,
Kal Simmons reaching on an error to start things off, the 32
nd game he has reached in 36 games played. Simmons was driven in by
Bo Way with an RBI single for a 1-0 lead.
Max Pentecost extended his hit streak to 17 games with a single in the first frame and was driven in by
Brennan Morgan followed by a bases-clearing two-RBI double from Liquori to set the Owls up 4-0.
Way then made it four straight games with an extra-base hit in the second, tripling down the left-field line to score Pentecost and Simmons after Pentecost knocked his 13
th double of the season earlier in the inning, putting the Owls up by six.
JSU made its way onto the scoreboard in the third, Joe McGuire sending his first homer of the season to right field to cut the lead to 6-1. Liquori then bumped the lead back to six runs, scoring on a double play pall from Simmons in the home half of the frame.
Paschal Petrongolo added on another for the Gamecocks in the fourth inning, putting a home run ball over the right-center field wall for the 7-2 score. JSU tagged on one more in the sixth, Griff Gordon coming home to score after leading things off with a double before a clutch bases loaded, inning ending double play ball got the Owls out of the jam with a 7-3 lead.
JSU made it a three-run game in the top of the seventh, but the Owls answered, scoring their first run in four innings with Liquori's second double of the night sending home

Clint Wynn for a 10-4 KSU lead.
KSU then tagged on one more for good measure in the eighth as
Chris McGowan came in to pinch hit, taking the first pitch he saw off the right field wall to score
Jacob Bruce.
James Connell then closed the door on the Gamecocks in the ninth for the 11-4 KSU win.
Pentecost and Way each had two-hit nights during the victory, Pentecost scoring twice with Way driving in three.
Cole McArthur picked up the win on the mound after going four full innings giving up just two runs on five hits.
The Owls will be back in Atlantic Sun Conference action starting this Friday, April 11, as KSU plays host to Stetson in a three-game weekend series with head coach
