Max Pentecost, the Kennesaw State baseball team took its 12
th straight victory on Wednesday night, trumping Georgia Southern for the second time this season, 9-3.
Pentecost put up a 4-for-5 performance with two runs scored, two driven in and a home run as the Owls took their 26
th win of the season, setting KSU at 26-20 after its final non-conference home game of the year.
Georgia Southern never led in the contest as the Eagles fall to 28-19 with the loss as KSU again put up double-digit hits with its 13 over GSU pitching.

Chris Erwin shot an infield single to second base, scoring
Chris McGowan from second on a hustle play to put the Owls up 1-0 after two complete.
KSU then broke the game open in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on four hits and a trio of costly Georgia Southern errors. Pentecost got things going as he extended his hit streak to 27 games with a single followed by a base hit from McGowan. An error then sent in Pentecost home with a bases clearing double from
Alex Liquori plating two more.
Another blunder from the Eagle infield then scored Liquori before Erwin picked up the triple down the right field line to bring in
Matt Bahnick, putting the Owls up 6-0.
Georgia Southern made it a four-run game in the top of the fourth, putting across two runs on two hits to make it a 6-2 contest.
After a scoreless fifth, the Owls added on one more to their lead in the sixth as an RBI single from McGowan to right field brought home
Jacob Bruce to make it a 7-2 KSU lead.
Pentecost then slammed the door, tying a career-high with his fourth hit in the ballgame, sending an opposite field shot to right field in the bottom of the eight, scoring Bruce, to send the Owls up by seven.
GSU tagged on one last run in the bottom of the ninth as Ben Morgan belted a triple to left center before coming home on the error, ending the game at 9-2.
McGowan, Morgan and Erwin each picked up a pair of hits during the victory, Morgan and Erwin each knocking a triple, Erwin picking up a pair of RBIs as a left fielder.
Kendall Hawkins took the win on the mound, his first collegiate victory from the hill, going four innings allowing just two runs.
Cole McArthur and
Nathan Harsh went a combined three innings in relief not allowing a hit before
Will Solomon closed out the final two.
The Owls will now break for the week, taking back to the field on Wednesday, May 7, as KSU heads to Georgia State for a 6 p.m. ET contest with the Panthers.
