Emily Collins will be Celebrated as the First Senior in Program History

THE GAME
The Kennesaw State lacrosse team will finish up the regular season against Detroit at 11 A.M. on Atlantic Sun TV. Emily Collins will be celebrated on Senior Day. The ceremony will take place right after the pre-game stick check.

THE OPPONENT:
This is Laura Maness' third season as the head coach at Detroit.
 
This season, Detroit is 3-12 and 2-2 in the Atlantic Sun. Goalie Lexi McCormick holds the highest save percentage in the A-Sun at .465. She is also second in saves per game with 9.93.
 
On the offensive end, Tessa Keuler leads the team in points with 31. She has 15 goals and 16 assists. Erin Campbell and Kylie Birney each lead the team with 23 goals each.
 
Two out of the three wins that Detroit has are in conference as they have beaten Howard and Detroit. 
 
LAST MEETING:
Detroit beat Kennesaw State last year 22-3 in the regular-season finale.
  
Head Coach Kristina Llanes on playing Detroit:
"We look to bring the experience we've gained the last 12 games and really make a statement against Detroit. We have achieved so many of our small goals this year and will continue to focus on these. I have confidence in our young team to continue to play smart and fierce."
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
» The game against Detroit will be Senior Day for Emily Collins. She is the program's first senior.
 
» Kennesaw State as a team is third in the country in picking up ground balls averaging 21.25. They are also 12th in the country in winning draw controls averaging 13.92 per game.
 
» Along with the team being third in the country in ground balls, Sydney Farwick is tied for second in the country averaging 3.67 per game. Against St. Mary's, she picked up a season-high 13 of them.
 
» Olivia Hokanson is leading the A-Sun with 39 goals on the season. Her average of 3.25 per game is ranked 10th in the country.

»    The Owls lead the A-Sun in shot percentage. Out of 259 shots the team has scored 121 goals giving them a .467 percentage.
 
»    Kennesaw State leads the A-Sun in attendance averaging 300 people a game.
 
»    The team is in the top two spots in the conference in assists, ground balls, draw controls and saves per game.
 
KSU INDIVIDUALLY                                
»    In conference games, Sydney Farwick is averaging the most points and assists in the league. She is averaging 2.0 assists per game and 4.75 points per game. She also leads the conference in ground balls in conference games averaging 3.75 a game.  
 
» Olivia Hokanson is also leading the league in points per game averaging 3.58. 
 
» Senior Emily Collins is 12th in the country in ground balls won per game. She has picked up 36 in 12 games for an average of 3.0 a game.
 
» Haley O'Donoghue and Taylor McGhee have hit their stride in conference play on the offensive side of the field. O'Donoghue has produced 12 of her 23 points on the season in conference play while McGhee has scored seven of her 13 goals in conference play.
