THE GAME
KSU will host the Davidson Wildcats this Saturday, March 8 at 1 P.M. It looks like it will be a perfect day at Fifth Third Bank Stadium to play lacrosse as there will be a high of 66 degrees and partly cloudy.

THE OPPONENT:
Kim Wayne is entering her sixth season as the head coach at Davidson.
 
Wayne's fifth season was one of the best in program history. She guided the Wildcats to the inaugural Big South regular season title with a perfect 7-0 mark in league play, and they finished with an 11-7 overall record, tying for most wins in a year.
 
For the great season, Wayne earned her first Big South Coach of the Year award. She also coached the Big South Offensive Player of the Year in Emily Cooke, while seeing seven 'Cats earn first or second team honors. Davidson advanced to the Big South Championship game before falling in a closely battled contest to High Point, 9-7.
 
LAST MEETING:
Davidson beat the Owls 20-2 in their first meeting.
 
NEXT UP
Kennesaw State will have two home games next week. They will host Anne Arundel Community College in an exhibition match on Friday, March 14 at 11 A.M. and Presbyterian on Sunday, March 16 at 1 P.M.

"Davidson is an established program who we look forward to hosting this Saturday. As we continue to focus on the process of building our program and the student athletes, our top priority will be on all the small contributions that each team member must obtain in order for us to be successful."
   
NEWS AND NOTES:
» Kennesaw State is one of newest programs in the southeast as this is only their second season as a program. Davidson is one of the oldest lacrosse programs in the Southeast as this is their 20th year as a program.
 
» Olivia Hokanson and Sydney Farwick are both off to great starts in their rookie seasons. They are top five in three different categories in the Atlantic Sun. Hokanson is second in goals scored per game with 2.67 and third in points per game with 3.00. Farwick is fourth in assists with .67 per game.
 
» After Kennesaw State and Davidson play, Syracuse and St. Johns men's lacrosse teams will play in the Cobb County Classic at 4 P.M. at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. 
 
KSU as a Team                              
» KSU is top three in several categories in the A-Sun. The team is second in picking up ground balls with 16 per game. The Owls are third in goals and total points on the season. They average 6.67 goals per game and 8.67 points per game. The team is tied for third in assists per game with six total and two each game.
 
» Last season after the first three games, KSU scored nine goals throught the first three games. This season the team has doubled that with 20 goals on the season, which is third in the A-Sun with 6.67 per game.
 
» There are fourteen newcomers on the roster this season and they have made an impact on the team early in the season. All fourteen have seen significant time and have accounted for 76.9 percent of the points this season.
 
KSU Individually                         
» Freshman Olivia Hokanson has had a great start as an Owl. After scoring four more goals against Campbell, she has pushed her season total to eight averaging 2.67 goals per game. Hokanson is also tied for third in points per game with 3.00.
 
» Sydney Farwick played another great game as well. She scored three goals, picked up five ground balls and won two draw controls. Farwick is tied for fourth in the A-Sun in assists averaging .67 a game.
 
» Emily Collins set a career high with five ground balls against Campbell. She also scored a goal and won one draw control in the game.

Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium is the home of women's soccer, women's lacrosse and football, which will play its inaugural season in 2015.
