MARIETTA, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team established a pair of program firsts during its 6-1 victory over visiting Lipscomb in an Atlantic Sun Conference match Saturday afternoon at Fair Oaks Park in Marietta.

The Owls (7-5, 2-0) won their fourth straight match to set a school record for consecutive wins since becoming a Division I program and their 2-0 start in A-Sun Conference play also established a KSU mark.

"Today was a great win and total team effort," Kennesaw State head coach "Eduardo Rincon# said. "We fought really hard, had great focus and came into today on a mission. I am really happy with the guys.

"I also want to again thank all the fans, KSU coaches and administrators who came out and supported us," Rincon added. "It means a lot to our guys and it definitely factors into our success."

Kennesaw State captured the all-important doubles point as the Owls rallied back from deficits in two of the three matches.

Freshman
David Durham and junior
Alex Pena got things off to a good start for KSU as they won their match at No. 3 doubles, 8-3. After losing at No. 2 doubles, the Owls captured the doubles point when sophomores
Jorge Wilton and
Maksim Yorsh outlasted Miguel Cortez and Stuart Tierney, 8-6.

Freshman
Simon Pritchard got Kennesaw State rolling in singles play as he recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Yorsh followed with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles, and freshman
Jake Bouchillon clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 6 position.

Louis Theodor also was victorious as he posted a 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 victory at No. 4 singles.

Kennesaw State returns to action on Saturday (Mar. 22) when it hosts Bradley in a non-conference match at Paces Club in Acworth beginning at 3 p.m. (ET). Â Â
