THE GAME:
The Kennesaw State men's basketball team is back in the friendly confines of the KSU Convocation Center this Friday night at 7 p.m. ET in the Atlantic Sun Conference Game of the Week as the Owls take on rival Mercer.

The night is shaping up to be an eventful one for fans, starting at 4 p.m. ET with a student tailgate adjacent to the Convocation Center. Festivities will include a hotdog eating contest, face painting and a plethora of activities for students to enjoy.

Heading into the gates, the first 1,000 fans will receive free LED batons with rally towels awaiting students in the student sections courtesy of YP.

The game will also serve as a Georgia Lottery game with one lucky student having a shot to win $1,000.

Sturgis, KSU's live mascot, will make an appearance at the rivalry contest and will be available to take photos with those in attendance.

The heated showdown has also been dubbed Greek Night, with all KSU fraternities and sororities encouraged to be in attendance.

MERCER
Despite taking a loss in its last game at USC Upstate, Mercer comes into Kennesaw, Ga. as one of the hottest mid-major teams in the country. A-Sun Player of the Year candidate Langston Hall leads the squad and the conference with his 327 total points while Daniel Coursey has hauled in 158 rebounds.

Delbert Love put himself in exclusive company on Sunday afternoon, the Kennesaw State men's basketball team couldn't close out a win at East Tennessee State, falling 86-73 in Atlantic Sun Conference action.
NEXT UP:
Northern Kentucky comes to town for a Thursday, Feb. 13 game followed by a Saturday, Feb. 15 contest against Lipscomb after the Owls take on Mercer.

Love Hits 1,000
With a 22-point outing against ETSU, junior
Delbert Love became the 13th Owl in the record books and the 157th in A-Sun history to reach the 1,000 point plateau.
Shooting Well
From the field this season, the Owls are shooting 41 percent. That margin improves in league play only, where KSU is connecting on 43 percent of its shots.
Steals
KSU ranks in the top 100 nationally with the team's 153 steals. On average, the Owls are walking away with 6.3 steals per contest, putting them among the A-Sun leaders in that category.

Perimeter "D"
The Owls continue to boast a top two three-point defense in the Atlantic Sun Conference, holding opponents to just a 33 percent success rate from beyond the arc.

Kouassi's Blocks
Willy Kouassi's 26 blocks puts the newcomer at No. 8 in the A-Sun. The Ivory Coast native now has eight games with two or more blocks.
Home Sweet Home
The three straight home games for the Owls are the most consecutive home games the team has enjoyed since Nov. 8-11, when KSU played four on its home floor to start off the season.
