The Bears are coming off back-to-back home wins last weekend over USC Upstate (79-71) and East Tennessee State (80-50) and have secured a spot in the 2014 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship with a 7-8 conference record, which puts them fifth with three games left. Overall, Mercer sits at 14-12 on the season and is 5-6 away from Hawkins Arena. The Bears average three players in double figures, led by Precious Bridges with 15.4 points per game. Brianna Williams and Kendra Grant add 13 and 11, respectively, while Teanna Robinson pulls down 10 rebounds per contest and leads the A-Sun with 99 blocks this season.
THE SERIES:
This will be the 18th all-time meeting between the Owls and the Bears, with KSU holding a slight 9-8 advantage over their in-state conference rival. In the teams' earlier meeting this season, the Owls' second-half comeback fell short as the Bears took a 64-59 win at Hawkins Arena in Macon, Ga. KSU was paced by junior guard
Kristina Wells with her 10th double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
LAST TIME OUT:
Even with a 28-point effort from junior guard
