THE OPPONENT:
East Tennessee State
The Bucs enter Thursday's contest just behind the Owls in the A-Sun standings at 3-9 in the conference and 7-16 overall. After a win over North Florida on Feb. 1, ETSU has dropped three-straight, including a 69-60 loss at USC Upstate last Saturday and is 2-8 in road games in 2013-14. The Bucs are led by Brianna McQueen with 11 points and three assists per game, and Serena Clark, who averages a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds per contest while leading the team with 18 blocks. Maria Bond adds 10 points and five rebounds for ETSU, who is averaging five-three pointers per game and 17 turnovers per outing.
THE SERIES:
This will be the 13th all-time meeting between the Owls and the Bucs, with ETSU holding an 11-1 advantage over KSU. In the teams' earlier meeting this season, the Bucs grabbed a 74-68 win at the MSHA/ETSU Athletics Center in Johnson City, Tenn., on Jan. 23. Junior guard
Kristina Wells led the Owls with her ninth double-double of the season with a game-high 24 points and 11 rebounds to go along with seven assists and two steals.
LAST TIME OUT:
Junior guard
Kristina Wells registered her 12th double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four steals, but it would not be enough as the Kennesaw State women's basketball team suffered a 76-42 setback to Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday night (Feb. 15) at Alico Arena. Freshman guard
Deandrea Sawyers added 10 points, five rebounds and two assists for KSU.
NEXT UP:
Kennesaw State continues its three-game home stand with Breast Cancer Awareness Day and Alumni Day on Saturday, Feb. 22 as the Owls host USC Upstate. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. and can be seen on the ESPN3 network.
