INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
Despite having three scorers in double figures, the Kennesaw State men's basketball team couldn't overcome a highly efficient No. 15 Butler offense falling to the Bulldogs 93-51.

"The game was what we thought it was going to be," head coach Jimmy Lallathin said. "We were playing against a great team that defended with physicality and efficiency. I think we succumbed to their physicality and it got us little bit out of character. Defensively, we just couldn't keep anybody in front of us. They're 15th in the country for a reason. My hat is off to them. Hopefully, we can learn something from this in how we want to execute offensive and defensive game plans and get healthy over the break we have over the next week."

Yonel Brown led the Owls with 14 points while Orlando Coleman and Delbert Love both had 11. Love also led the team with eight rebounds.

After a layup by Butler, Love got the scoring going for the Owls hitting a three in the corner that gave them a 3-2 lead.

The next bucket for KSU came when Brown penetrated in the lane and dished it to Coleman, who slammed it home making the score 10-5 Butler.

Through the next five minutes, Roosevelt Jones took over for the Bulldogs helping Butler build a ten-point lead.

With 9:33 left in the first half, Love got a steal and took it the length of the court and Coleman cleaned up his missed shot with a tip-in making the score 32-17 Butler.

Later in the half, Willy Kouassi blocked Kellen Dunham's layup and Brown picked up the loose ball and had an easy bucket on the other end making the score 40-18.

The Owls shot 45.5 percent from the floor in the first half, but Butler, who moves to 8-1 on the season, lead 52-27 at halftime.

Coming out in the second half, Love scored the first four points in the half for the Owls hitting a free throw and nailing a three to bring the score to 54-31.

Butler quickly found its rhythm on offense once again in the second half and continued to stretch out its lead.

With 11:33 remaining in the game, Brown knocked down a jumper in the paint and then stole the ball from Jackson Aldridge and cashed in on a three point play after getting fouled on the layup to bring the lead under 30 at 72-44.

Butler put five players in double figures as they went on to win 93-51.

Now the Owls will have a break with final exams and will play Youngstown State on Wednesday, December 17 at 7 p.m.
