» The Kennesaw State basketball team has a quick turnaround after playing Kent State on Saturday, as they fly to Indianapolis, Indiana to play Butler at the famous Hinkle Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 8. The game will be broadcasted on Fox Sports 1.
» Prior to losing to FIU, the three game winning streak the Owls had was their longest winning streak since the 2009-10 season when that team won six in a row.
 
THE COMPETITION
Butler                                        
Butler has gotten off to a fast start this season going 7-1. Over Thanksgiving, the Bulldogs placed third in the Battle 4 Atlantis after beating North Carolina and Georgetown.
 
Butler extended its non-conference home winning streak to 16 after defeating Northwestern on Saturday, December 6.

Kennesaw State hosted Kent State at the Convocation Center for a Saturday afternoon matchup. The Golden Flashes pulled away late winning the game 58-46 despite Delbert Love and Bernard Morena both scoring in double figures.

This Week in KSU Men's Basketball       
»   Kennesaw State travels to Indianapolis, Indiana to take on the Butler Bulldogs in the famous Hinkle Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. Monday, December 8. The game is being nationally televised on Fox Sports 1.
»   After the game against Butler, the Owls will have until December 17 until their next game against Youngstown State.
 
KSU as a Team                                             
»   Prior to losing to FIU, the three game winning streak the Owls had was their longest winning streak since the 2009-10 season when that team won six in a row.
»   Beating Samford and Chattanooga marks the first time that the Owls beat the first two NCAA Division I opponents they have faced at home.
»   Defensively, the Owls have been tough to score on in the paint all season. Led by Willy Kouassi, KSU leads the A-Sun in blocks with 42 on the season averaging 5.3 per game. That is one block more than anyone else in the conference averages per game.
»   In what was a grueling early season schedule, KSU faced off against four 2013-14 NCAA Tournament teams during the first four games.
»   Against Chattanooga, the team was 34-44 from the free throw line shooting 77.3 percent. Both of these marks were the second highest in school history. The Owls currently lead the A-Sun in free throw percentage at .675.
 
KSU Individually                                        
» Yonel Brown set a new career high and tied the KSU points record with 32 points against Chattanooga. He also set new program records in free throws and free throws attempted going 18-21 from the charity stripe.
» With Brown making 88.4 percent of his free throws he leads the A-Sun as well as leading the conference in minutes played averaging 36.3. He has scored in double figures in five of the past seven games and averaging 15 points a game. Brown leads the team in scoring (13.0) and assists (25).
» Junior Nigel Pruitt earned 2K Classic All-Tournament Team honors after going off for 20 points against North Dakota State followed by 11 against Alcorn State. Pruitt is second on the squad in points per game with 12.0.
» Orlando Coleman leads the team with three double-doubles, earning 14 points and 12 rebounds at Mercer followed by a career-high 20-point, 12-rebound contest at Alcorn State and 12 points and 10 rebounds against Samford.
» In the paint, Kouassi has been a force for the Owls, leading the conference with 19 blocks. The center has multiple blocks in seven of the past eight games and has led the Owls in blocks in every game except for one this season.
