THE GAME:
The Kennesaw State men's basketball team remains on the road this week, taking on in-state and former Atlantic Sun Conference rival Mercer on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN3.
 
The Owls are looking to snap a two-game losing skid to start off the season while the Bears enter the contest at 1-1.

THE OPPONENT:
MERCER

Mercer, now a member of the Southern Conference, heads into Wednesday night at 1-1 with a win over Piedmont and a loss to Seton Hall. The Bears are shooting a lights-out 42 percent from the field and averaging 68 points per contest.

LAST OUTING:
Even with a stellar performance from junior Nigel Pruitt, the Kennesaw State men's basketball team couldn't overcome a potent Cal offense, falling to the Bears 93-59 in the second game of the 2K Classic Benefiting the Wounded Warrior Foundation on Sunday afternoon.

NEXT UP:
KSU remains on the road this weekend, taking to Fargo, North Dakota for two games to wrap up the 2K Classic benefiting the Wounded Warriors Foundation.

NEWS AND NOTES:
Pruitt's Hot Hand
Nigel Pruitt has paced the Owls through the first two games, putting in 13.5 points per outing including 16 at Cal. The junior is also tops in rebounding with 4.5 boards per game and field goal percentage at a .526 success rate.

Owls on the Road
KSU will travel over 10,000 miles in its first five games, taking to three states and three time zones.

At the Stripe
KSU has turned in to one of the top free-throw shooting teams in the conference in the early goings, putting in 63 percent of its tries from the stripe.
 
In the Paint
The Owls have also played tough under the basket so far, averaging 3.5 blocks per game.
 
Perimeter D
Much like last season, KSU has played tight defense around the perimeter, holding opponents to just 11 three-pointers through the first two outings.

Milestone Watch
A few career milestones to look out for against the Bears include Yonel Brown looking for his 300th career point and 100th career field goal and Delbert Love looking for his 300th career rebound.
