KENNESAW, Ga. – As Kennesaw State University continues to prepare for the debut of football in 2015, another milestone has been reached with the unveiling of a logo for the marching band, Dr. Debra Traficante, director of athletic bands, announced on Monday (Oct. 27).
 
Traficante will direct "The Marching Owls," which will play a major role in the game day atmosphere during KSU home games at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
 
"The creation of something as traditional as a logo, uniforms, or pregame is no small task," Traficante said. "We are building our history right now and I am proud of the progress and decisions we are making for future generations of "The Marching Owls."
 
The logo, designed by Rickabaugh Graphics, which is one of the leading design firms in the collegiate market, features the owl wings of the Kennesaw State Athletics primary mark attached to a marching snare drum with the "KS" logo laid over the top and sitting above the words "The Marching Owls."
 
"We cannot be more excited about the start of our upcoming marching band," Traficante said. "It is an honor and privilege to be the first director of a group such as this, and it is something that I do not take lightly."
 
Traficante also announced the dates and times of information sessions that are designed to give future students and their parents an inside look into "The Marching Owls." The first of five dates is scheduled for Feb. 10, 2015 in the KSU Center beginning at 3 p.m. (ET).

Fifth Third Bank is the Official Bank of Kennesaw State Athletics. Fifth Third Bank Stadium is the home of women's soccer, women's lacrosse and football, which will play its inaugural season in 2015.
