JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –
The Jacksonville Dolphins topped the Kennesaw State Owls (8-13, 2-5) in three sets (19-25, 27-29, 20-25) on Saturday, October 11.

"It was a really tough day for us," head coach Keith Schunzel said. "It was one of those matches that it didn't feel like a whole lot of things were going right on our side of the net and a lot of things were going right on their side of the net. We're at a part of the season right now where we are starting to get some tired legs and tired minds and one thing our team has to learn to do is push through that, keep grinding it out and figuring out ways to be successful. At exactly halfway through conference season, we are by no means where we wanted to be, but we still have plenty of time to get this ship moving in the right direction again. We continue to have a great fighting spirit as a group, so I know this team is going to do everything in its power to reach our potential as we get to the second half of the conference season."

Kristi Piedimonte had 34 assists and 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.

Anaiah Boyer had her third double-double in a row with 11 kills and 11 digs. Senior Ria Ridley also stepped up on the attack finishing with 10 kills.

Katarina Morton led the team with 14 digs.

After dropping the first set, KSU battled JU in the crucial second set into extra points. The Owls held off three set points, but couldn't hold off a fourth as the Dolphins won the set 29-27.

In the third set with the score tied at 16, Jacksonville went on a 9-4 run to close out the match.

The Owls will be back at home next weekend as USC Upstate comes to town on Saturday, October 25 for a 3 p.m. match.
