KENNESAW, Ga. – The Owls men's tennis team wrapped up its weekend tournament at  College of Charleston  on Sunday (Oct.12).

In singles draw, sophomore  Simon Pritchard defeated to College Of Charleston's Rodrigo Encinas 6-4,5-7,6-3. After falling in straight sets in his second match Pritchard rebounded with a 6-2, 6-4, win over Ollie Casey of Appalachian State to win the Gold Draw singles title.

Freshman, Will George and sophomore Drew Wendell each collected a pair of singles wins in their draws, while four other Owls collected one singles victory.
On the doubles side, Wendell and David Durham showed a lot of resiliency after falling in their first doubles match in a tiebreaker to come back and win their next two matches including a 8-7 win over a team from Campbell to win their draw. Manuel Castellanos# and  Jake Bouchillon  kept their undefeated record in the fall in tact by collecting three wins across a pair of flights.

"This weekend was very productive for us.," said head coach Eduardo Rincon. "  The team performed and competed at the level we expected. There is no question that we need to keep working on getting better as a team and we will continue to work taking care of little things, especially during pivotal times during matches.  College of Charleston  did a great job putting together and organizing an amazing event where every match we played was extremely competitive."

The KSU men's tennis team will hit the road again on Thursday, Oct. 16 when it begins play in the ITA Southeast Regional in Athens, Ga. The tournament will conclude on Monday, Oct. 20. Recaps of the tournament will be available at KSUOwls.com.
