MBB: Quick Turnaround as Owls Host USC Upstate

THE GAME:
Just two days removed from its Atlantic Sun Conference home opener, the Kennesaw State men's basketball team returns to the floor this Monday, Jan. 6, for a 7 p.m. ET contest against USC Upstate.
 
The Owls take on perennial conference power USC Upstate in the Convocation Center, KSU looking to improve upon a 3-13 overall record and an 0-3 mark in the league standings while the Spartans look for their first A-Sun win as well.

THE OPPONENT:
USC UPSTATE    
USC Upstate enters the KSU Convocation Center after losing a two-point game at Mercer on Saturday night, putting the Spartans at 0-1 in league play. Torrey Craig continues to be a player of the year candidate, averaging a conference leading 20 points per outing.

LAST OUTING
In the Owls first home game in well over a month, the Kennesaw State men's basketball team dropped a 71-55 decision to Atlantic Sun Conference opponent East Tennessee State in the Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon.

NEXT UP:
After two games at home in the Convocation Center, the Owls are back on the road this Friday as the Owls head to Mercer for the rivalry showdown.

NEWS AND NOTES:
Coleman's Scoring Streak
Orlando Coleman has now scored in double-figures in six straight ballgames after putting in 11 against ETSU. Coleman leads the Owls in scoring with his 11.4 points per game.

Hamilton on the Assist
Myles Hamilton continues to dish out the assists, averaging 2.3 per game in 15.4 minutes of action.
 
Love's Consistent Play
Delbert Love's 24 steals this season puts him at second overall  in the Atlantic Sun Conference to go along with his 41 assists.
 
Games Played
Kennesaw State has played 16 games in 2013-14 so far, giving the Owls a tie for the conference lead in total games played.
 
Offensive Boards
Of KSU's 521 rebounds this season, 197 of those are of the offensive variety, putting the Owls at second in the league in that statistic.
 
Steals
With 108 total steals this season the Owls rank No. 1 in the conference in that category, averaging 6.5 takeaways per game, putting KSU at No. 71 in the nation.
