THE GAME:
Kennesaw State wraps up its four-game home stand as the Owls welcome in the North Florida Ospreys for an A-Sun contest on Saturday, Jan. 4 at the KSU Convocation Center. Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on the ESPN3 network.

THE OPPONENT:
North Florida        
The Ospreys opened Atlantic Sun Conference action on Thursday, taking a 62-48 lost at Mercer and sit at 4-8 on the season after winning their previous two games before their defeat in Macon. UNF is led by Destinee Smith, who is the lone Osprey averaging double figures with 10.9 points per game and has played a team-high 334 minutes. On the glass, Paulina Zaveckaite leads the team with 7.5 boards per game.  
 
THE SERIES:
This will be the 35th meeting between the Owls and the Ospreys, with KSU holding a 19-15 advantage over UNF.
 
In the team's last meeting the Owls took a 50-40 win on Feb. 11, 2013 at the KSU Convocation Center. It was a total team effort as six of the seven players to see action scored baskets, with junior guard Kristina Wells leading the way with 14 points and four rebounds. 
 
LAST TIME OUT:
Kennesaw State dropped its Atlantic Sun Conference opener to Jacksonville, 74-63, despite a strong second half performance on Thursday night (Jan. 2) at the KSU Convocation Center.
 
Junior guard Kristina Wells posted her sixth double-double of the season with a season-high 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Owls, while junior guard Bria Young equaled her season-high with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including two three-pointers.
 
NEXT UP:
The Owls hit the road for the first time in conference play, traveling to Nashville, Tenn., for a 7 p.m. ET contest against Lipscomb in Allen Arena on Thursday, Jan. 9.
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
Offensive Boards
The Owls continue to be a strong offensive rebounding team, ranking third in the Atlantic Sun Conference in offensive rebounding percentage (.357) and fifth in offensive rebounds with 162 total offensive rebounds for an average of 13.5 per game and.
 
Limiting Opponents on the Glass
Defensively, KSU ranks third in rebounding defense and is holding teams to 38.1 rebounds per contest. For the season, the Owls hold a +0.0 rebounding margin, which sits fourth in the league.
 
Wells Doubling Up
Junior guard Kristina Wells continues to lead the Owls and owns six double-doubles on the season, including two-straight in contests against Alabama A&M and Jacksonville. She ranks in the top five in the conference in steals (1.7 spg), rebounding (9.0 rpg) and minutes played (35.2 mpg). Her 13.3 points per game also rank eight in the A-Sun.
 
Brooks Coming on Strong
Freshman forward Gratia Brooks has been a sparkplug for the Owls in the last three contests, starting all three games and averaging 11.3 points per game. In that span she is shooting a blistering 70.6 percent from the field and is 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. She posted a career-high 16 points in KSU's 83-79 win over Alabama A&M on Dec. 29.  
 
A-Sun Newcomer of Week Leading Owls
After leading the Owls to an 83-79 win over Alabama A&M, freshman Deandrea Sawyers was named the A-Sun Newcomer of the Week. Sawyers ranks second on the team with 11.4 points per game and has scored in double figures the last three contests.
