THE MATCHES:
The Kennesaw State volleyball team opens up Atlantic Sun Conference action this weekend on a four-game win streak, hosting USC Upstate on Friday night before facing reigning A-Sun Tournament Champs East Tennessee State on Saturday afternoon with both matches in the KSU Convocation Center.
The 7 p.m. ET match against the Spartans on Friday will be Beach Night sponsored by Shane Co. and will feature free food for students from Bahama Breeze, inflatables and free koozies given away at the door for the first 500 fans in attendance.
First serve on Saturday against the Buccaneers is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.
Both matches will be free for fans that wish to attend as with all home KSU volleyball matches in 2013.

THE OPPONENTS:
USC Upstate
USC Upstate has struggled to get going in the early portions of the 2013 season, sitting at 0-8 overall heading into Atlantic Sun Conference play. Defense has been the one bright spot for the Spartans who average 14.87 digs per set and are holding opponents to a .218 attack percentage.
Last Meeting: Upstate won, 3-0, on Oct. 9, 2012
East Tennessee State
The reigning A-Sun Tournament Champions have not cooled off since last season, averaging 14 kills and over two blocks per set so far this year. The Buccaneers bring in Player of the Year Megan Divine who leads the league in total kills with 193, leading the high-octane offense of East Tennessee State.

NEXT UP:
The Owls will be back on the road after six straight home matches starting on Sept. 27 as the team heads to Fort Myers, Fla. to take on Florida Gulf Coast.

Keith Schunzel has lead his team to an undefeated record at the KSU Convocation Center with a 4-0 mark at home in 2013.
Pedraza Defensive Player of the Week
Libero
Camille Pedraza was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week as well as to the Owls Invitational All-Tournament Team after posting 71 digs during the team's four matches. Pedraza now ranks No. 3 in the A-Sun with 163 total digs.

Setter
Sara Metroka earned KSU Owls Invitational MVP honors after putting up 155 assists en route to the championship title for KSU.
Kicking Off Conference Play
With the beginning of conference play this weekend; KSU will have just one non-conference tilt remaining this season coming after the conference tournament at SEC opponent Georgia on Nov. 29.
