INTERVIEW
PHOENIX, Ariz. – After finishing up his playing career as Kennesaw State's all-time leading rebounder, former men's basketball standout Aaron Anderson was invited to workout with the Phoenix Suns this past Thursday, June 20, prior to the NBA Draft.
Anderson was invited to the Phoenix Suns' training facility after spending the offseason working out in his hometown of Tucson, Ariz., preparing for a professional basketball career after obtaining a degree in communications this past spring.
In what was the first NBA workout for Anderson, he spent just over an hour on the court with other first-year NBA eligible players.
"I wasn't nervous, just a little anxious," said Anderson. "I got a call from my agent yesterday and he told me to get up here ASAP, so two hours later I left and 12 hours after that, I was here. After the first few minutes I got warm and the other guys really helped me along. It was a good workout and it's been surreal being here."
The 6-7 forward ended his playing career with the Owls with 743 rebounds, breaking the school record after a 22-rebound contest against Florida Gulf Coast in his final game with KSU.
The NBA draft will take place on June 27, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
