KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State baseball team ended a 14-game home stand on a high note, taking a 6-2 win over non-conference opponent Alabama State in Stillwell Stadium on Tuesday night, taking the series sweep over the Hornets in the process.

The Owls, now 15-10 on the season, trailed by one run up until the bottom of the sixth inning when the black and gold put up three runs to take the lead, capitalizing on a pair of Alabama State (15-11) errors and a big Jacob Bruce (Woodstock, Ga./Woodstock HS) RBI double to give KSU the 3-1 edge.

Kennesaw State collected one more run in the seventh as Bo Way (Brunswick, Ga./Glynn Academy) extended his hit-streak to 20 games with an RBI single that scored Kal Simmons (Nashville, Ga./Berrien HS).

Dylan Ivey (Winder, Ga./Winder-Barrow HS) laid down the sacrifice bunt in the eighth to score Bruce from third base in the eighth as the Owls came away with the 6-2 victory.

Pitcher Nathan Harsh (Brunswick, Ga./Brunswick HS) earned the win after going 3.2 innings allowing just four hits and striking out five during the sophomore’s first start of the season. The bullpen for KSU allowed just five hits to the Hornets and only one earned run as well during the ballgame.

Offensively it was Way, the team leader with a .360 batting average for KSU, who put up a two-hit game, going 2-for-4 with one RBI and a run scored. First baseman Anthony Duran (Miami, Fla./Southwest Miami HS) also picked up a pair of hits in three at bats with a run and one RBI.

The Owls return to Atlantic Sun Conference action this week as the team heads to Deland, Fla. for a three-game series against the Hatters of Stetson. Game one will be this Thursday, March. 28 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
