THE GAME:
Kennesaw State will look to close out 2013 with a win as the Owls take on Alabama A&M in their final nonconference contest of the season on Sunday, Dec. 29 at the KSU Convocation Center. Tip is set for 2 p.m. ET.

THE OPPONENT:
Alabama A&M
The Bulldogs enter Sunday's contest winners of the last two of three games, including wins over Murray State and South Carolina State, but fell 81-51 to Louisiana Tech last Sunday. Alabama A&M is led by Brittney Strickland (14.2 ppg) and Jasmine Sanders (10.1 ppg, 7.0 rbp) in Semeka Randall's first season at the helm. The Bulldogs are 0-5 on the road in 2013-14.
THE SERIES:
This will be the first-ever meeting between the Owls and the Bulldogs in the Division I era.
This is the third-consecutive game in which the Owls have played a team for the first time in program history after facing off against Georgia on Dec. 15 and Columbia on Dec. 21.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Kennesaw State women's basketball team jumped out to an early lead, but ultimately fell 78-61 to Columbia on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 21) in the KSU Convocation Center.
Redshirt-senior forward
Lisa Capellan was a spark plug in her first start of the season, leading the Owls with 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. Junior guard
Kristina Wells added 15 points and six rebounds for KSU.
NEXT UP:
Kennesaw State will continue its four-game home stand in the New Year as the Owls open Atlantic Sun Conference play against Jacksonville on Thursday, Jan. 2 at the KSU Convocation Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET.
NEWS AND NOTES:
Rebounding on Offense
The Owls continue to be a strong offensive rebounding team, ranking second in the Atlantic Sun Conference in offensive rebounds with 140 total offensive rebounds for an average of 14.0 per game and third in offensive rebounding percentage (.365).
Wells Leads the Way
Junior guard
Kristina Wells has been the consistent force behind the Owls and ranks in the top four in the Atlantic Sun Conference in steals (1.9 spg), rebounding (8.7 rpg) and minutes played (34.8 mpg). Her 12.9 points per game also rank 11th in the A-Sun.
Limiting Opponents on the Glass
Defensively, KSU ranks second in rebounding defense and is holding teams to 38.1 rebounds per contest. For the season, the Owls hold a +0.9 rebounding margin, which sits fourth in the league.
Capellan's Strong Return
In just the three games that she has been back from injury, redshirt-senior
Lisa Capellan has made an impact on the glass. Capellan owns a 5.7 rebounds per game average, including a season-high nine boards against Columbia.
Owls on TV
This season the Owls will play a total of 13 games on the ESPN3 network, including 10 at the KSU Convocation Center, and one on CSS, the most televised games in program history. The Owls are set to open league play on Thursday, Jan. 2, which will start the nine-straight home games that will be shown on the ESPN3 network.
