MBB: KSU Set to Take on Eagles

Owls Face Georgia Southern on Tuesday Night

THE GAME:
The Kennesaw State men's basketball hits the hardwood for the second time in three days as the Owls face off against Georgia Southern this Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. ET in Statesboro, Ga.
 
KSU enters the contest at 3-8 after a Monday night loss at Georgia Tech while the Eagles return to their home floor where they are 4-1 on the year holding an overall record of 5-6.

THE OPPONENT:
Georgia Southern
The Eagles of Georgia Southern head into the ballgame with a 5-6 overall record but an impressive 4-1 mark in Hanner Fieldhouse. GSU makes its first home appearance in nearly two weeks after splitting a pair of road games, defeating South Carolina State before taking a loss to UAB.

LAST OUTING
A strong start followed up by a hard-hitting finish kept the Kennesaw State men's basketball team in the ballgame at Georgia Tech, but the Owls ultimately fell to their cross-town rival, 74-57 on Monday night in McCamish Pavilion.

NEXT UP:
Following the two games in Georgia, KSU will head north to Bloomington, Ind. to take on the highly-ranked Hoosiers in Assembly Hall on Dec. 22 at noon ET.

NEWS AND NOTES:
Three-Point Success
With 74 total three-pointers made this season, KSU ranks third in the A-Sun and 50th in the nation in that category. The Owls also come in at No. 31 nationally in three-pointers attempted with 214.

Stealing the Show
KSU has now come away with 73 total steals this season and is averaging 6.8 per game, putting KSU at No. 1 in the conference in that category.
 
Love Leading the Offense
Delbert Love has regained the team lead in points from Orlando Coleman after putting in his 115th of the season and the 866th of his career.
 
Starting Five
For the first time this season, KSU started a different starting five at Georgia Tech when Nate Rucker took the place of Nigel Pruitt in the lineup.
 
Osemhen at GT
Senior Andrew Osemhen put together one of his best outings to date against the Yellow Jackets, tipping in 13 points, falling just one shy of his career record that was set exactly one year prior at Charlotte.
 
Kouassi's Blocks
Willy Kouassi continues to lead the team in blocks with his 11 after swatting three at Georgia Tech to go with his 12 points and seven rebounds.
 
Rucker's Debut
Nate Rucker made his long-awaited KSU debut on Monday night, going off for five points and four rebounds while earning the starting nod.
