THE GAME:
After a five day layoff the Kennesaw State women's basketball team returns to the court for its fourth road contest of this early season, traveling to Murray, Ky., for a pre-Thanksgiving Day contest against Murray State on Tuesday. Tip is set for 6:15 p.m. (ET) at the CFSB Center.

THE OPPONENT:
Murray State
After dropping two-consecutive games to Western Kentucky and Wright State, the Racers (3-2) bounced back with an 83-64 home win over Saint Louis on Saturday. MSU opened the season with back-to-back wins over Robert Morris and Evansville. Keiona Kirby leads the Racers in scoring with 17 points per game, while Jessica Winfrey is averaging 11 rebounds per contest. MSU is outscoring its opponents by an average of eight points per game.

Last Meeting: First Meeting
THE SERIES:
This will be the first-ever meeting between the Owls and the Racers. For the Owls, it will be the third Ohio Valley Conference member they have faced this season. KSU defeated Tennessee State, 70-68, earlier in the season, before falling to Jacksonville State, 78-65, last Wednesday.
LAST TIME OUT:
Even with a career night from freshman guard
Deandrea Sawyers, the Kennesaw State women's basketball team fell to Jacksonville State, 78-65, at the Pete Mathews Coliseum on Wednesday night (Nov. 20). Sawyers poured in 24 points for the Owls (1-4, 0-0), including three three-pointers and 14 second half points, to go along with five rebounds and three assists. Junior guard
Kristina Wells fell one rebound short of her third-straight double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.
NEXT UP:
The Owls will have a week off for the Thanksgiving Day holiday before returning to the KSU Convocation Center for a 7 p.m. (ET) contest against regional rival Georgia State on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
NEWS AND NOTES:
Getting on the Glass
The Owls are getting it done on the glass and rank in the top four in the league in several rebounding categories, including first in offensive rebounding percentage (.387), second in offensive rebounds (14.8/game) and rebounding defense (37.8/game) and third in rebounding margin (+1.8).
Baker Leading the Way
Junior Guard
Ty-Nita Baker leads the Owls in scoring and ranks seventh in the A-Sun with a 15.4 average and has scored the sixth most points out of any conference players this season with 77 total points. Baker scored a season-high 24 points in a 70-68 win over Tennessee State.
Young Guns
The Owls started four freshmen for the first time this season at JSU and have had three players start all five games in 2013-14, including Wells and freshmen
Deandrea Sawyers and
Chloe Branch.
Wells Crashing the Boards
While she made be a guard, junior
Kristina Wells is dangerous on the glass and ranks fourth in the league in rebounding, averaging 8.8 boards per contest. Wells also ranks in the top 15 in scoring with a 13.2 average and has totaled two double-doubles this season.
