THE GAME:
The Kennesaw State women's basketball team has a quick turnaround as the Owls head back on the road for a midweek tilt against Jacksonville State on Wednesday, Nov. 20, only three days removed from a battle with Southeastern Conference foe Florida. Tip is set for 8 p.m. (ET) at the Pete Mathews Coliseum in Jacksonville, Ala.

THE OPPONENT:
Jacksonville
After opening the season with three games on the road, the Gamecocks (0-3) return to the Pete Mathews Coliseum for its home opener against the Owls. JSU has had a tough early season slate, facing SEC opponents Ole Miss and Auburn, as well as Georgia Southern. JSU is led by Candace Morton (19 ppg, 9 rpg) and Miranda Cantrell (11 ppg, 8 rpg), both of whom are averaging just under a double-double per contest.
 
THE SERIES:
The Owls and the Gamecocks have played six times in program history, with KSU holding a 5-1 advantage. In last season's meeting between the two schools, junior guard Kristina Wells made a pair of free throws with less than four seconds to go to lift the Owls to a 51-50 win over JSU in Jacksonville.
 
LAST TIME OUT:
Despite a second-consecutive double-double effort from junior guard Kristina Wells, the Kennesaw State women's basketball team fell in a tough 83-62 battle with SEC foe Florida at the KSU Convocation Center on Sunday, Nov. 17. Wells put in a team-high 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Owls, while freshman forward Aareon Smith, starting her first game for the Black and Gold, poured in 14 points, including a 7-of-7 mark from the charity stripe.
 
NEXT UP:
The Owls continue their road trip to Murray, Ky., for pre-Thanksgiving Day contest against Murray State on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Tip is set for 5:15 p.m. (ET) at the CFSB Center.
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
Getting on the Glass
The Owls are getting it done on the glass and rank in the top four in the league in several rebounding categories, including first in offensive rebounding percentage (.397), second in offensive rebounds (15.5/game), third in rebounding defense (38.2/game) and fourth in rebounding margin (+2.2).
 
Baker Leading the Way
Junior Guard Ty-Nita Baker leads the Owls in scoring and ranks seventh in the A-Sun with a 16.8 average and has scored the third most points out of any conference players this season with 67 total points. Baker scored a season-high 24 points in a 70-68 win over Tennessee State.
 
Double-Double Wells
After notching her first career double-double a season ago, junior guard Kristina Wells has added to her total with back-to-back double-double efforts against Gardner-Webb (12 points, 11 rebounds) and Florida (16 points, 11 rebounds) this season.
 
Coming Through in the Cutch
Earlier this season Wells converted a pair of free throws with 0.5 seconds left in regulation to lift KSU to a 70-68 win over Tennessee State. The Douglasville, Ga., native also made a pair of freebies for a 51-50 win against the Gamecocks, making two free throws with four seconds remaining in last's season's meeting
