THE GAME:
The Kennesaw State women's basketball is prepped to open its home schedule on Monday, Nov. 11 as the Owls face Tennessee State at 7 p.m. (ET) at the KSU Convocation Center.

THE OPPONENT:
Tennessee State
The Lady Tigers, under second-year head coach Larry Joe Inman, are coming off of an 85-53 season-opening loss at Kansas State on Friday. TSU returns four letter winners from the 2012-13 season and added eight newcomers, including seven freshmen, to the roster. The Lady Tigers finished last season with a 13-15 record and a 9-7 mark in the Ohio Valley Conference. This season TSU is picked to finish fifth in the East Division standings.
THE SERIES:
This will be the first meeting between the Tennessee State Lady Tigers and the Owls.
LAST TIME OUT:
Kennesaw State opened its season with a 87-66 loss to the College of Charleston on Friday, Nov. 8 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. Junior guard
Ty-Nita Baker led the Owls with 23 points, including four three-pointers, in her KUS debut. Junior guard
Kristina Wells poured in 13 points and eight rebounds, while freshman forward
Chloe Branch added 12 points for the Owls.
KSU is looking to improve upon a 2012-13 season that saw the team go 7-24 in head coach
Nitra Perry's first season with the Owls.
NEXT UP:
The Owls return to the road for a midweek contest against Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C., on Thursday, Nov. 14. Tip is slated for 7 p.m. at Paul Porter Arena.

The New Look Owls
Individually, the Owls return four letter winners from last season's squad, including starting guard
Kristina Wells, as well as redshirt-senior forward
Lisa Capellan, junior guard
Bria Young and sophomore guard
Nicole Adams. KSU welcomes in 11 newcomers to the 2013-14 team, including junior college transfers
Ty-Nita Baker and
Valescia Dixon, and eight talented freshmen.
Newcomer Bakers Leads KSU
Baker, a talented transfer from Itawamba Community College led the Owls with 23 points, including four three-pointers, in her KSU debut on Friday at the College of Charleston.
Wells the Leader
One of the top returners in the Atlantic Sun Conference, Wells ranked in the top 15 in the league in scoring, rebounding, assists, free throw percentage, offensive and defensive rebounds, as well as ranking fourth in minutes played and ninth in steals a season ago. She led KSU with 46 steals and ranked second on the team with 10.7 points per game and 57 assists.
Owls on TV
This season the Owls will play a total of 13 games on the ESPN3 network, including 10 at the KSU Convocation Center, and one on CSS, the most televised games in program history. KSU will have its ESPN3 debut next Sunday, Nov. 17, when the Owls host Florida at 2 p.m. (ET).
Perry's Second Season
Head coach Nitra Perry begins her second season at the helm of KSU women's basketball after her head coaching debut a year ago. Perry earned her first win as a head coach on Nov. 21, 2012 with a 72-65 win over Troy in Kennesaw.
