VB: Owls Roll Into ETSU on Two Game Win Streak

Friday Night Match to be Featured on ESPN3

THE MATCHES:
The Kennesaw State volleyball team heads into an action-packed week on a two-game win streak with matches against East Tennessee State, Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky.
 
KSU heads to East Tennessee State for a Tuesday, Oct. 29 match against the league-leading Buccaneers before hosting second place Lipscomb on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET and Northern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET.
 
Friday's home match against Lipscomb will be a Family Fun Friday with inflatables and free popcorn for kids as well as an ESPN3 featured game.
 
As always, attendance is free for those who wish to attend.

THE OPPONENTS:
EAST TENNESSEE STATE
East Tennessee State currently sits atop the Atlantic Sun Conference standings at 10-1 in league play and have one of the top hitters in the conference in Megan Divine.
Last Meeting: ETSU won, 3-1, on Sept. 21, 2013
 
LIPSCOMB
Lipscomb arrives at the KSU Convocation Center on a seven-game win streak and as the top-hitting team in the A-Sun with a .277 attack percentage. The Owls have never beaten LU but do hold an 8-2 record at the Convocation Center.
Last Meeting: Lipscomb won, 3-1, on Oct. 12, 2013
 
NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Northern Kentucky is holding steady at 4-8 on the year with one of those wins coming in a five-set victory over the Owls back on Oct. 11 in Highland Heights, Ky.
Last Meeting: NKU won, 3-2, on Oct 11, 2013

NEXT UP:
The Owls will be back on the road for two Atlantic Sun Conference contests starting on Nov. 8 with a Friday night game at North Florida and a Saturday afternoon match with Jacksonville.

NEWS AND NOTES:
Going the Distance
The Owls currently lead the Atlantic Sun Conference in five-set matches played with seven and hold a 4-3 record in matches that go the distance so far this season.

Metroka's Milestones
KSU senior setter Sara Metroka had a record-breaking week, becoming the school's all-time sets played leader while earning her 4,000th career assist.

Home Record
Head coach Keith Schunzel has lead his team to an impressive record at the KSU Convocation Center with a 8-2 mark at home in 2013.

Double-Doubles
Toure Hopkins has been a double-double machine for the Owls, earning five on the year after yet another double-figure performance against Florida Gulf Coast in which she totaled 11 digs and 10 kills during the win.
 
Killing the Competition
Freshman Kelly Marcinek continues to be one of the top hitters in the A-Sun, sitting at seventh overall with 286 kills, the most of any freshmen in the conference.
