JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State soccer team will enter the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed for the second consecutive season after falling to North Florida, 4-1, on Sunday, Oct. 27 at Hodges Stadium.

The Owls (8-8-1, 5-3-1) wrapped the No. 3 seed with 16 points in conference action, finishing only two points behind second-seeded Jacksonville and will host No. 6 seed Lipscomb (6-7-5, 3-3-3) on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Game time and ticket information will be announced on Monday. UNF finishes its season at 6-9-4 and 3-4-2 in league play.

"We are excited about being able to host," said head coach Rob King. "We worked hard to get to this point and we are looking forward to that game. We will take a couple days rest and we will be ready to go for that home game on Saturday night."

Florida Gulf Coast, who claimed the A-Sun regular season title and No. 1 seed, will host the A-Sun semifinals and finals scheduled on Friday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 10, respectively, in Fort Myers, Fla.

The Owls and the Ospreys entered halftime in a scoreless tie, despite a couple of dangerous scoring opportunities from redshirt-freshman forward Brittney Reed and redshirt-junior forward Katrina Frost.

UNF took a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the second half as Jill Holdsworth received the ball from Keara Murphy at the left corner of the box on a corner kick service and hit a shot that curled into the upper right corner of the goal.

Two minutes later the Ospreys added a second goal when Lauren Hopfensperger took a through pass from Carolina Lencina and finished into the back of the net.

Frost put the Owls on the board in the 70th minute after making a move on a UNF defender and firing a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal to push the score to 2-1.

The Ospreys then answered with a pair of goals from Alexis Bredeau and Thea Linkfield in the 74th and 83rd minutes, respectively, to cement the win.

KSU outshot North Florida 15 to 12, with the Owls totaling six shots on goal and the Ospreys notching seven on frame. Frost, Reed and junior midfielder Nicole Calder each tallied three shots to lead the Owls.

Kennesaw State earned five corners in the match, with UNF earning seven. Both teams combined for 22 fouls.

Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Sturdivant registered three saves in the match, while UNF's Megan Dorsey recorded five.
