JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With a goal in the 104th minute of the match, freshman forward Shannon Driscoll sent the Kennesaw State soccer team to a come-from-behind 2-1 double-overtime win over Jacksonville to secure a spot in the 2013 Atlantic Sun Conference tournament on a chilly Friday night (Oct. 25) at Southern Oak Stadium.

With the win, the Owls jump over JU and move to second place in the A-Sun standings with 16 points.

The Dolphins (10-7-0, 5-3-0) got on the scoreboard first in the 19th minute as Joy Grove and Alexandra Lee combined for a ball over the KSU backline to Kaitlyn Bassett. Bassett then chipped freshman goalkeeper Olivia Sturdivant, who had come off her line to defend the service.

The Owls (8-7-1, 5-2-1), trailing 1-0, came out in the second half determined to rally from its deficit. Freshman forward Maggie Gaughan would do just that in the 67th minute as she scored her third goal of the season off of a beautiful cross from redshirt-freshman midfielder Brittney Reed from the right corner. The Marietta, Ga., native beat JU goalkeeper Sarah Sierra to deflect the ball into the net to even the match at 1-1.

With both teams bending but not breaking in the second half, the match went into overtime. It was the second-consecutive overtime match for the Owls and the third match out of the last four to go to extra time.

Driscoll then ended the match just over three minutes into the second overtime as she received a through ball from redshirt-junior Katrina Frost and finished with a curving shot to the upper right corner of the goal for the Owl victory.

The Owls outshot Jacksonville 18 to 11, with eight shots on goal for KSU and four shots on frame for the Dolphins. The KSU backline only allowed two shots after halftime, while also not allowing a shot on goal in the final three periods. Sophomore midfielder Hannah Churchill and Reed led the Owls with four shots each, with Churchill totaling three shots on frame.

KSU earned two corners in the win, while the Dolphins earned seven. Both teams combined 20 fouls.

Sturdivant notched three saves in the contest. Sierra tallied six stops for the Dolphins.

Kennesaw State wraps up the 2013 regular season on Sunday, Oct. 27 with a 1 p.m. (ET) match against North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
