THE OPPONENT
The Buccaneers have lost three-straight and are allowing the most points of any team in the A-Sun, giving up an average of 78.2 points per game to opponents and are being outscored by a 16.8 margin on the season.

Junior guard/forward combo player Destiny Mitchell is leading the team in points with 11.7 per game, field goal percentage with a .481 mark and rebounds with 8.5 boards per contest.

Head coach Karen Kemp is one of the longest tenured coaches in the league, holding a career record of 264-259 in her 19 seasons at the helm of Buccaneer basketball.

THE SERIES
ETSU leads the all-time series between the two institutions by a 10-1 margin, KSU winning the last meeting by 10 points, 78-68, on Feb. 4, 2012 in the KSU Convocation Center to take the team’s first ever win over the Bucs.

Along with the first ever win over ETSU, the Owls also played in front of a women’s basketball record crowd of 1,524 fans.

Five Owls finished the game in double-digits including Sametria Gideon (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) with a game high 16 and Kristina Wells (Douglasville, Ga./Douglas County HS) with 13. KSU was also good for 20 assists during the tilt.

LAST OUTING
Even with another impressive night from sophomore guard Wells, the Kennesaw State women’s basketball team couldn’t overcome stellar shooting from the Jacksonville University Dolphins, taking an Atlantic Sun Conference loss, 64-52, in historic Swisher Gymnasium.

Wells was good for 15 points and nine rebounds while tying a career high with six steals as the Owls fall to 4-13 on the year and 0-5 in the A-Sun.

Gideon fell just short of earning her fourth straight double-double with eight points and nine rebounds despite missing the majority of the first half after picking up her third foul just seven minutes into the ballgame.

Ashley Holliday (Greenville, S.C./J.L. Mann Academy) also ended the night in double-figures, putting in 11 points with four assists, tying with teammate Wells for the game high in that category.

As a team, the Owls connected on five three-pointers during the game, all coming in the first half, with two of those coming from Nicole Adams (New Port Richey, Fla./Gulf HS) and one each from Holliday and Chelsea Mason (Bellevue, Neb./Bellevue West HS).

KSU also forced 18 JU turnovers during the game, turning them directly into 15 points on the other end.

THE NUMBERS
Gideon is one of just 36 players in the nation to average a double-double with 11 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

The three-point defense of KSU is the best in the A-Sun and one of the top 100 in the nation, holding opponents to just a .277 success rate from beyond the arc.

The Owls are committing just 12 fouls per game, putting KSU at No. 5 in the nation in fewest personal fouls per contest.

NEXT UP
The Owls have one more game on the docket at home Monday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. when USC Upstate comes to town. Three-straight road games then await the team, starting on Jan. 26, at A-Sun newcomer Northern Kentucky.

Mann Academy) played in her 100th career game against North Florida, becoming the second Owl to do so after Gideon accomplished the feat earlier this season. Gideon is currently looking for rebound 1,000, bringing in 964 so far, while Wells is seeking her 500th career point at 468.
