DAY THREE RESULTS
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Kennesaw State men’s tennis team completed play at the Wake Forest Spring Invitational with three Owls tallying wins on the final day of competition.
“Overall I thought we competed well today,” said Head Coach #T.J. Greggs#. “I saw some good things out of the players and I feel like we had a pretty decent weekend. We are going to go back on the practice court and spend the next four weeks getting ready for the dual match season.”
In doubles action, the tandem of freshman
Tobi Menhofer and sophomore
Louis Theodor earned an 8-4 win over William & Mary’s Ben Hoogland and Matt Waddell, while the pairing of sophomores Alexander Pena and
Matthew Johnson battled back from an early deficit, but ultimately dropped their match, 8-6, to Sergio Mourelo and Guillem Secanell of Liberty. Freshman

Gokalp Ozdemir rounded out KSU with an 8-1 loss to the Flames’ Egon Samaii and Shea Thomas.
Individually, Pena notched a 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory over Stan Vaughn of Liberty, while Theodor won in a walkover against William & Mary’s Will Juggins. Ozdemir and Johnson fought hard, but suffered three-set losses in both of their matches. Yorsh dropped his final match of the tournament, while Menhofer retired with an injury after leading in his match over Tennessee’s Sebastian Yllera.
Kennesaw State opens the 2013 dual match season on Saturday, Feb. 9 as the Owls face Nicholls State at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Marietta, Ga., at Noon.
