2014-15: Member of the first KSU men’s tennis team to make it to the A-Sun Conference Tournament…Had a 1-5 singles record during tournament play…Posted a win over the University of Alabama Huntsville.


2013-14: Went 1-1 in singles action during his junior season, both matches coming in early season tournament play... Took two wins in doubles play, one over South Carolina and the other over Presbyterian College...

2012-13: Posted a 1-8 overall record in singles play, including a 1-1 mark at No. 5 singles ... Went 1-6 in doubles action ... Teamed with Maksim Yorsh for a 1-0 record at No. 3 doubles ...  Did not see action during conference play ... Registered a 6-2, 6-1 over William Law of Alabama A&M.

2011-12: Had a solid freshman campaign, registering a 4-1 record in singles play and ending the season on a two-match win streak...  Tallied a 4-0 mark at No. 6 singles... Had a 6-3 doubles record, playing at No. 3 doubles with partners Alex Pena (2-0) and Alex Toliver (4-3)...

High School: According to the Tennis Recruiting Network Matthew was ranked 448th in the nation, and 23rd in the state of Georgia... Was the team captain, played at the No. 1 spot and was named MVP of his high school team as a senior... Defeated the third highest ranked player in the state of Alabama as a senior...

Personal: Born on September 25, 1992...  Son of Thomas and Lisa Johnson...  Has three brothers, Jeff, Bill and David...  Has not declared a major...
