Box Score

DELAND, Fla. - The Kennesaw State men's tennis team fell to Stetson for the fourth straight season, dropping a 6-1 contest on the road to the Hatters (5-1, 1-0 A-Sun).  The Owls (5-6, 0-2) continued to struggle in doubles, and dropped five of six singles matches on a windy day at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

In the opening doubles, Owl Head Coach #T.J. Greggs# once again tested out some new combinations, but the results remained the same.  The Owls were swept in doubles for the third straight match, managing only nine games in the three matches combined.

The singles were a more competitive affair, with the Owls keeping four matches close before ultimately falling to the perennial powerhouse in the Atlantic Sun Conference.  Senior Simon Janik held three match points at the No. 3 spot before falling to Didrik Berg of the Hatters, 6-3, 2-6, 1-0(9).  The lone victory for the Owls was by freshman Alexander Pena, who picked up his first Atlantic Sun win, downing fellow freshman Chester Espie by a score of 7-6(5), 6-4.

The Owls will return to action on Monday when they return to non-conference play with a match against Niagara University on the campus of Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
