KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State is set for its first Atlantic Sun Conference road trip of the season as the Owls travel to Highland Heights, Ky., for a matchup against Northern Kentucky on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. ET, followed by a 1 p.m. contest at Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn., on Sunday, Oct. 7.

This will be the first-ever meeting between Kennesaw State (5-6-1, 1-1-1) and Northern Kentucky, while the Owls own a 6-1-0 mark in the all-time series versus Lipscomb. KSU posted a 4-0 win over the Bison last season at KSU Stadium.
The Owls are coming off of a split last weekend, dropping Friday’s match against East Tennessee State 3-1, before rebounding with a 3-0 win over USC Upstate on Sunday. Sophomore midfielder
Nicole Calder (Adelaide, Australia/Westminster) tallied her first goal of the season in the 14th minute of the match versus the Bucs on an free kick service from redshirt-sophomore defender Jewelia Strickland (Fayetteville, Ga./Alabama). Freshman forward

Liz Blackburn (Bellevue, Neb./Bellevue East HS) and junior midfielder
Kelsey Barr (Douglasville, Ga./South Carolina) each tallied goals for the Owls against the Spartans.
Northern Kentucky enters the match having yet to tally a win at home and is at 4-8-0 overall and 1-3-0 in conference action after splitting last weekend’s matches. The Norse earned a Friday night win at Stetson, 1-0, before dropping a 6-0 decision at Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday. The Norse is the newest member of the A-Sun, moving to the conference prior to the 2012-13 season. This season is also the first of a four-year reclassification period in which NKU transitions into a Division I institution.
Head Coach Bob Sheehan is in his 15th year as the only women’s soccer head coach in NKU history and owns an overall record of 240-59-16 (.787). Freshman Martha Staab leads the Norse offensively with eight points on three goals and two assists, while sophomore Kelsey Zwergel leads NKU with 38 shots and has notched six points on two goals and two assists. Seniors Stephanie Glass and Cassie Lingenhoel have split time in goal for Norse, with Glass owning a 2-3-0 record and a 1.60 goals-against average in 450 minutes. Lingenhoel has tallied a 2-5-0 mark and owns a 2.23 goals-against average in 647 minutes.
Lipscomb (2-7-3, 0-3-1 A-Sun) went 0-1-1 last weekend in conference action, with 2-0 loss at Florida Gulf Coast, followed by a 1-1 double-overtime tie at Stetson. Head Coach Kevin O’Brien is in his first season at Lipscomb. This is his first heading coaching position after previously holding the position of associate head coach and recruiting coordinator of the men’s soccer program at Davidson College since 2009.
Sophomore Baylee Linnell leads the Bison with 10 points on four goals and two assists, while between the posts for Lipscomb is senior Erin Zerio, who has played every minute for the Bison this season. Zerio has given up 19 goals for a 1.47 goals-against average in 1,160 minutes and has registered 70 saves to go along with three shutouts.
Kennesaw State next returns home for its final home matches of the season, with the Owls hosting North Florida on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Oct. 14, KSU will celebrate seniors
Lexi Hastings (Ontario, Canada/Lassiter),
Mel Hutto (Pensacola, Fla./South Alabama),
Lauren Roberts (Rome, Ga./Marshall) and Blackburn, before facing off against Jacksonville at 1 p.m. Both contests will be held at KSU Stadium.
