KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State volleyball team will look to remain perfect on the road this week as the Owls head to Alabama State for their final non-conference match of 2012.
Game time on Tuesday is set for 7 p.m. ET in Montgomery, Ala.
The Owls are now 12-7 on the season after dropping their last two games to Lipscomb and Northern Kentucky but hold a 3-0 record away from the KSU Convocation Center.
The Hornets of Alabama State are just 1-17 with their lone win coming against Alcorn State.
Senior
Baylee Strachan (Sioux City, Iowa/Winthrop) continues to be the driving force for KSU, notching 147 kills to go with her .315 attack percentage, the third highest in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Fellow senior
Turea Jones (Santa Rosa Calif./Santa Rosa JC) is now one of five players in the A-Sun with 200 or more total kills with her 212.
Setter
Sara Metroka (New Castle, Ind./New Castle Chrysler HS) is averaging 10.84 assists per set, putting the junior in the top 50 in the nation in that category to go along with her team leading 20 service aces.
Defensively, libero
Camille Pedraza (Marietta, Ga./Kell HS) leads the way with 279 total digs while freshman
Cierra Royster (Mableton, Ga./Cumberland Christian HS) boasts a team high 42 blocks. Emily Bean (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike HS) and Strachan sit behind the first year player tied with 34 blocks each.
The Owls will play twice more this weekend, heading to Jacksonville, Fla. for matches against Jacksonville and North Florida.
