KENNESAW, Ga. – If history stays consistent, then this years 2011 Women’s Atlantic Sun Championship should shape up to be a good one for the Owls. After a fourth place showing in 2009 and a second place finish in 2010,
Rhyll Brinsmead’s squad is geared to make the next step in winning a championship.
The venue for this year’s Championship will again be the Victoria Hills Golf Club in Deland, Fla. The Black and Gold will open competition Monday morning with a 10 a.m. (ET) tee time and will be paired with Campbell and East Tennessee.
The Owls enter the tournament as the highest ranked team in the field, but will have to dethrone two-time defending champion Stetson in order to capture the schools first A-Sun Championship title.
At the 2010 A-Sun Championship at the Venetian Bay Golf Club in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., the Owls fired a 54-hole score of 299-288-301/888, +24.
