2009-10 Season
Competed in all 11 of the Owls tournaments, with her best finish coming at the Jack Rabbit Invitational when she posted an 8th place finish… Finished the 2009-10 season with the lowest scoring average of her career (77.7)… She also posted an 11th place finish at the Eagle Landing Invitational, followed by a17th place finish at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships…For the second time in her collegiate career, Abby won the “Coaches Award,” an award given to the player that exhibits the best work ethic, determination and academic/ athletic performance over the course of the fall and spring seasons… Was recognized as an A-Sun All Academic team member.
2008-09 Season
Did not compete due to a medical redshirt.
2007-08 Season
Fitzgerald was one of the leaders of the Owls squad during the 2007-08 season, finishing second on the team with a 78.9 scoring average ... She recorded three top 20 finishes on the season, led by a tie for fifth at the spring-opening Baja Invitational where she shot a 234 (81-77-76) ... Fitzgerald finished in the top half of the field in six of the Owls nine events compiling a 437-278 win/loss record ... En route to the Owls lowest 36 hole total (149), Fitzgerald shot a career-low 73 in the first round with a final round 76 to finish in a tie for ninth at the Draper Intercollegiate ... Fitzgerald advanced up the leader board with a second round 75 at the Larry Nelson Collegiate Invitational, eventually finishing tied for 24th at 240 (86-75-79) ... Abby was awarded the "Coach's Award" for the 2007-08 season, this award is given to the player that exhibits the best work ethic, determination and improvement over the season.
2006-07 Season
Abby played five rounds and started two events for the Owls in her freshman season ... Finished 27th at the Hatter Fall Classic ... Posted a two-round score of 176 at the Anne Rhodes/ Birmingham Southern Shootout on February 26 and 27 in her second tournament of the year.
Prep Career
Graduated from Lee County (Ga.) High School in 2006 ... Won back-to-back Albany Amateur Championships ... Won two PGA Junior titles.
