MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Kennesaw State women’s golf team placed fourth at the Barefoot at the Beach Invitational recording a 310-299-307/916, +52. Sophomore Ket Preamchuen was the lowest Owls scorer finishing T-8, carding a 77-71-78/226, +10.
The Black and Gold finished behind first place East Carolina 892, +27 second place Wisconsin 898, +36 and third place East Tennessee State 903, +39. The Pirates placed two individuals in the top-three as Fanny Wolte won the individual medal posting a 214, -2, and teammate Amy Otteson finished third shooting a 223, +7.
The squad encountered some season best as senior Abby Fitzgerald recorded her best finish thus far, T-16th, firing a 78-77-74/229, +13. Spring transfer Chelcia Petersen tallied the best finish of her early Owls career finishing T-27th, shooting an 81-75-77/233, +17. Freshman Hayley Clinning also T-27th posting a 79-76-78/233, +17, while sophomore Molly Winnett rounded out the scoring, finishing T-32nd shooting a 76-78-80/234, +18.
The team has little time to prepare for their next tournament, as the Owls will forgo coming home and travel straight to the next tournament, the Eagle Landing Invite in Jacksonville, Fla., Mar. 11-1
