MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team sits in fifth place at the Barefoot at the Beach Challenge after 36-holes of play.  The Owls recorded a team score of 310-299/609, +33 after two rounds at the Davis Love Course.

"After a slow start to the completion of our first round, the team found a rhythm and started making putts," head coach Rhyll Brinsmead said. "Our goal is a sub-290 round tomorrow and to move into second place."

The Owls led by the play of sophomore Ket Preamchuen look to make a push on Tuesday. Preamchuen is T-7th after carding a 77-71/148, +4. Sophomore Molly Winnett is on pace for her best finish of the season as she is currently T-23rd, posting a 76-78/154, +10. Freshman Hayley Clinning and senior Abby Fitzgerald are both T-30th after Clinning shot a 79-76/155, +11 and Fitzgerald turned in a 78-77/155, +11. Sophomore Chelcia Petersen posted an 81-75/156, +12 and is T-34th.

East Carolina (586, +10) holds a 16-stroke lead over second place Wisconsin (602, +26) and a 22-stroke lead over College of Charleston (608, +32) and East Tennessee State (608, +32). The ECU Pirates have three individuals in the top three as Fanny Wolte (144, E) hods a one-stroke lead over Nina Muehl (145, +1) of ETSU while Amy Otteson (146, +2) and Amber Littman (146, +2) are tied for third.
