KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women’s tennis team settled for a River City split as it dropped the second match of their two-match road trip, 5-2, to North Florida on Saturday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex.
The loss drops the Owls to 14-4 (4-2 A-Sun) which is good enough for fifth place in the conference, while the win improves North Florida to 9-3 (4-1 A-Sun) on the year.
Two excellent individual efforts highlighted the day for Kennesaw State.

Vera Shkundina broke out of her mini funk in a big way on Saturday as she dominated the reigning A-Sun Player of the Year, Aline Berkenbrock, 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 1 singles spot.

Morgan Carney continues her dominance of A-Sun opponents as she cruised past Melinda Doak 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 6 singles position. The win improves Carney to a perfect 5-0 in conference singles matches.
The Black and Gold will return home for a very important four-match home stand starting with its final non-conference match of the season against Wright State on Monday, March 21at 1:00 p.m. at the Laurel Park Tennis Center.
