Orange Park, Fla. - The Kennesaw State women's golf team are currently in 12th place at the JMU Eagle Landing Invite with only one round remaining. Just outside the top teams, the Balck and Gold look to surpass their previous rounds of (312-303/615, +39) in order for a strong finish.
Senior
Abby Fitzgerald posted the top round of the afternoon for the Owls shooting a (74/ 151, +7) to advance into T-28th position. Freshman
Hayley Clinning is still the overall leading Owl, as she sits T-10th, posting a (73-75/148, +4). Just one stroke behind her is teammate
Ket Preamchuen who is T-32nd after carding a (77-75/152, +8), while sophomore
Molly Winnett is T-87th after shooting a (85-79/164, +20) over 36-holes.
Sophomore
Chelcia Petersen failed to compete again on Saturday due to back problems. Petersen has withdrawn from the competition, leaving the Owls to compete with only four competitors.
Chattanooga maintained its lead in the Invite, shooting a 285, -3 in the second round to bring its 36-hole total to (581, +5). East Carolina (594, +18) is in second place while conference foe Campbell (603, +27) is in third, holding a one stroke lead over a three-way tie for fourth.
The Mocs' Christine Wolf shot a single-round tournament record 66 (-6) to take the overall lead (141, -3). Wolf holds a five-stroke lead over second place, as four individuals are tied at (146, +2).
The Black and Gold will tee off in the final round on Sunday at 8:16 a.m. (E.T.) and will be paired with Longwood and James Madison. Live stats can be viewed at
