KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men’s tennis team got back on the winning track on Saturday afternoon as they took home wins over Alabama State, 7-0, and Alabama A&M, 6-1.
The Owls went 3-1 on the weekend, and now move to 5-2 for the season. The losses drop Alabama State to 0-3, while the loss for Alabama A&M was their 2011 season opener.
Head Coach #T.J. Greggs# was happy with Saturday’s results, but knows the competition will get much tougher for his Owls moving forward.
“It was good to get a couple more wins under our belts today,” coach Greggs said. “Our level of competition goes up from here on out and we will need to raise our games if we want to compete.”
Sophomore
Elliot Kahler had a solid day for the Owls as he only lost three games in two singles matches at the No. 3 position. Kahler now leads the team in total victories with 11 wins this season after tallying 18 wins as a freshman.
Sophomore
Gokalp Ozdemir got two nice singles wins at the No. 2 spot beating Alabama State’s Joshua Donaldson 6-1, 6-4 and Alabama A&M’s Nicholas Burger 6-3, 6-1.
The Owls will be off for a couple days before heading back out to Alabama to take on Jacksonville State. The match is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. eastern time.
