KENNESAW, Ga. - With a chance to improve its standing in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on the line, Kennesaw State's volleyball team will be on the road this weekend in Nashville to take on conference foes Lipscomb and Belmont this Friday and Saturday.  Both matches will be available via ASun.TV and KSU All-Access.

"Our team feels like it has something to prove heading into this weekend," said KSU head coach Karen Weatherington.  "When we played these two teams the first time around, we didn't play to the best of our abilities.  We'll be playing both Lipscomb and Belmont on their Senior Night, so we know there will be even more added motivation for them."

The Owls (12-13, 7-3) are in a tie for third in the A-Sun with Florida Gulf Coast; however, thanks to the head-to-head tiebreaker, KSU would be the No. 3 seed entering the tournament.  The Owls punched their ticket for a return trip to Nashville in two weeks by virtue of their, 3-1, win over USC Upstate last Saturday at the KSU Convocation Center.  Justine Young set a new program record with 28 kills in the victory, earning A-Sun Player of the Week honors in the process.  Alyssa Lang nearly had the first 20/20 match in KSU history, tallying 19 kills and 19 digs.

For one of the first times in the history between the two teams, Lipscomb will enter the match with Kennesaw State Friday night on a two-match losing streak.  The Lady Bisons saw their record-setting 44-match A-Sun win streak come to an end Oct. 25 at the hands of Belmont.  One week later, Lipscomb fell to Tennessee State, 3-2, in another cross-town rivalry match.  Lipscomb is now 16-8 overall with a 9-1 record in A-Sun play.

First serve between the Owls and Lipscomb is set for 7:30 p.m. EDT at Allen Arena.

The next day, the Owls will attempt to play Senior Day spoilers again when they face Belmont.

Belmont (17-8, 8-2) has not played since its upset of Lipscomb.  Earlier this season, the Owls took the first set from the Bruins at the KSU Convocation Center just to see the Belmont rally back to take the next three sets.  Maggie Johnson led the Bruins that night with 23 kills.  She currently leads the A-Sun with 4.70 kills per set in A-Sun matches.

First serve in Saturday's match is set for 3 p.m. from the Curb Event Center.
