KENNESAW, Ga. - Instead of having 13 days off between matches, the Kennesaw State volleyball team will now have a chance to stay sharp for the remainder of Atlantic Sun Conference play as the Owls travel to face Alabama A&M on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. CDT.

"This will be a good chance for us to concentrate on staying focused for the remainder of the season," said KSU head coach Karen Weatherington.  "Alabama A&M is doing very well in their conference play this year, and they have a couple of players back who were injured when we played them the first time.  This should be a tough test, but it will help us in the long run."

The Owls (12-9) are currently in second place in the A-Sun with a record of 5-1.  Only Lipscomb, with a record of 6-0, is ahead of the Owls in the standings.  While senior Sabrita Gulley leads the Owls in total kills on the year with 272, Alyssa Lang cleared the 200-kills mark for the season last Saturday in KSU's, 3-2, win over Stetson.

For Gulley, the Alabama A&M rematch will be a reminder of one of the greatest performances of her career.  Against the Bulldogs at the KSU Convocation Center Sept. 24, Gulley connected for 21 kills, setting a KSU record for kills in a three-set match.  Gulley earned national recognition from CVU.com as one of the Top Performers of the Week for her accomplishment that night.

Since facing the Owls, the Bulldogs (8-8) have played three matches, defeating Southwest Athletic Conference foes Jackson State and Alcorn State but falling to Troy.  A&M will face off with Jackson State in Jackson, Miss., on Thursday night before facing the Owls.

The Owls will return to the court and A-Sun play Oct. 29 in Buies Creek, N.C. against Campbell.
