KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State head men’s basketball coach Tony Ingle and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics have announced the signing of Aaron Anderson and Mirza Sabic, both of Central Arizona College, to National Letters of Intent to play for the Owls beginning in the fall of 2010.

“We are excited to have Aaron and Mirza sign with us,” said Ingle on his first two signees of the year. “We expect a lot out these two men as soon as they get on campus.”

Both are enjoying solid freshmen seasons under head coach Chuck Schnoor and associate head coach Jud Kinne at Central Arizona College. The 6-foot-7-inch Anderson is averaging 12 points, 13 rebounds and is shooting 70 percent from the field while Sabic, at 6-foor-6-inches, is averaging 14 points, six rebounds and is connecting on 45 percent of his three-pointers.

“I am proud of Coach [Che] Roth’s recruiting of these two young men,” added Ingle. “He has been on them for a long time and we’re glad his dedication and hard work paid of with the signing Aaron and Mirza.”

A star at Marana Mountain View High School, Anderson was the 5A South Region Player of the Year and was named to the 5A All-Sate Team as well as the Arizona All-Star Game. During his senior season he was selected as one of the top 20 players in the state of Arizona as he averaged 16 points, 13 rebounds while leading the state in offensive rebounds.

Sabic, who prepped at Deer Valley High School, was also tabbed as one of the top 20 players in the state of Arizona in his senior season. An All-State and All-Region selection in his junior year, Sabic averaged 28 points, seven rebounds and connected on over 50 percent of his three-pointers.

Anderson and Sabic are the first two Kennesaw State men’s basketball signees from the state of Arizona.
