The Kennesaw State Competitive Cheer and Dance squads are coached by one of the nation's rising talents in Felicia Mulkey. A former cheerleader at both Southern Union in Alabama and Kennesaw State, Mulkey has resurrected a program that was formally a club program into a national powerhouse that has claimed back-to-back NCA All-Girl National Championships. Before winning consecutive national titles in 2005 and 2004, Mulkey's squad were perennially in the top five. In her eight season, Mulkey has moved Kennesaw State competitive cheer into not only a sport, but a national caliber sport. Over the past seven seasons Mulkey has seen her Owls rise in the national rankings from a 12th place national finish in 1998 to a ninth place slot in 1999. In 2000 the Owls cracked the top five for the first time with a fifth place finish before finishing second in 2001, just .02 points away from a national championship. The Owls were also national runner-ups for two more season's before hitting the pinnacle for the first time in 2004. Also in 2004, Mulkey led the Owls to their their first-ever Peach Belt Conference championship. Mulkey's strict adherence to physical training and meticulous routines has resulted in numerous NCA All-Americans. Since taking control of the program, Ingle has recruited 24 young ladies which she has helped develop into All-Americans. When she isn't splitting her time with Cheer and Dance, Mulkey is the full-time Director of Marketing and Promotions for Kennesaw State Athletics. After earning her degree in Health and Exercise Science from Kennesaw State. Felicia worked as the Marketing Director at the American Lung Association. Before coaching at KSU, Mulkey cheered for two years at Southern Union (AL), a nationally ranked [5th] squad and coached the Bison to an 8th place national finish in 1995.
