Mitch Militello is in his first season as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Kennesaw State.
Militello came to Kennesaw, reuniting with head coach Jerry Mack, after four seasons on the offensive staff at Tennessee. Militello worked closely under UT’s Josh Heupel, specifically working with the Vols’ quarterbacks.
Like Mack, Militello worked under Heupel for several years, in addition to time spent as an offensive graduate assistant at UCF and Missouri.
In Knoxville (2021-24), he helped tutor quarterbacks Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton, who both went on to be NFL Draft picks in the third and sixth rounds, respectively. With Militello on staff, the Vols posted the No. 1 offense in the country in 2022, gashing opponents for 525.5 yards and 46.1 points per game, both tops nationally.
Prior to Tennessee, Militello worked with UCF (2018-20), helping lead the Knights to top-10 offenses each of his three seasons. UCF finished fifth (522.7 yards per game), second (540.5 ypg) and second (568.1 ypg), respectively, while also finishing sixth (43.2 points per game), fifth (53.4 ppg) and eighth (42.2 ppg).
While in Orlando, Militello worked closely with quarterback McKenzie Milton, who was a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist, and Dillon Gabriel, who finished his career as the all-time college football record-holder for touchdown passes (105).
Prior to UCF, Militello was on staff at Missouri for two seasons (2016-17), helping guide the Tigers to the No. 1 offense in the SEC in 2017 (502.2 ypg).
Militello worked closely with both the offensive staff and quarterback Drew Lock, who broke the SEC passing record for touchdowns (43) in 2017 before ultimately being a second-round pick in the NFL Draft.
