Kennesaw State Director of Athletics
Milton Overton announced the addition of
Matt Iwanski as Associate Athletic Director of Compliance and Risk June 2022.
Iwanski joined KSU after leading the compliance department at George Mason, where he oversaw the day-to-day compliance aspects for GMU's 22 sports and over 500 student-athletes. He prepared and assisted in a total rebuild of the Athletics Compliance office by creating new processes and structure for financial aid, eligibility, admissions, and recruiting. He developed new methods for the monitoring of admissions, financial aid tracking, and NCAA eligibility.
Before George Mason, Iwanski was an Assistant Director of Compliance at Ohio State. He led all compliance aspects for the field hockey, men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse, and men's soccer programs while also assisting with all eligibility functions for Ohio State Athletics.
"Matt is a talented compliance leader who will elevate KSU's athletics compliance and risk management program," said KSU Vice President and Chief Legal Affairs Officer Nwakaego Nkumeh Walker. "We are very excited about his arrival."
He also holds experience as the Assistant Director of Compliance at Georgetown University, where he supported 29 sports, and while earning a Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo School of Law, was a Compliance Intern for the Rockets.
Iwanski played football at Delta State and earned his bachelor's degree in 2014. He is a native of Frederick, Md.
