Matt Baney

    Graduate Assistant Strength Coach
Matthew Baney was hired in May 2016 as Kennesaw State's assistant director of strength & conditioning for football.
 
In this role, Baney is responsible for assisting in designing and maintaining a well-structured player development program that will assist athletes to reach the highest standards of success both on and off the field.
 
Prior to arriving at Kennesaw State, Baney served as an intern at Penn State University, working specifically with the football program from January 2016 to April 2016. Before that, Baney worked as an intern with the Olympic Player Enhancement from August 2015 to December of 2016.
 
He also worked at State College Area High School Fitness Center as a volunteer intern from January of 2015 to April of 2015.
 
Baney played college football at Penn State as a walk-on from 2012 to 2016. While there, he earned 2015 Academic All-Big Ten honors, and was awarded the Letterman’s Club Scholarship and Academic Achievement Award. Baney also participated in Uplifting Athletes charity Lift for Life to raise money for kidney cancer.
