Maggie joined SASS in Summer 2024 as the Assistant Director of Olympic Sports Academics, directly advising the Men's Basketball and Women's Golf programs.
Prior to KSU, Maggie spent two years at the University of Alabama as the Coordinator of Academic Programs for Intercollegiate Athletics. In this role, she served as Learning Specialist for the Men's Track team, supporting a caseload of 20+ student athletes, and contributing to the success of multiple national champion athletes and future Olympians. In addition to providing learning support, she served as Tutor Coordinator to over 100 undergraduate, graduate, and professional support staff. This role allowed her to design and implement learning support services tailored to student-athletes, collaborate with campus partners, and foster a culture of accountability and growth; experience she hopes will contribute to the continued growth and success of KSU athletes.
Her journey in athletics and higher education began at her alma mater, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she held multiple roles that allowed her to grow as a mentor, advisor, and program coordinator. Her time in Student Affairs and Academic Success Services at UAB gave her a strong foundation in program planning, student development, and operational management. She also served as an adjunct instructor, helping first-year students explore their strengths and chart meaningful academic paths.
Maggie has her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology- Exercise Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (2016), and her Masters of Higher Education- Student Affairs from the University of West Alabama (2021). She is from the small town of Demopolis, AL and attributes her love of sports and her competitive nature to her twin brother, a lifetime athlete and current NCAA D1 football coach. When she is not supporting student-athletes, Maggie enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new food and social spots, and spending time outdoors with her dog, Hazel.
